About Us

Colin Burr – Racing Manager

Colin has enjoyed horse racing all his life and it is his passion. The ambition was always to own a horse himself but also to enjoy the social side of the sport. With this in mind he entered a syndicate in 2008 and quickly saw success with a few horses trained by Alan King.

In 2018 Colin decided to form BDR Syndicates to share his enthusiasm for the sport. Colin is dedicated in his role as Racing Manager with a friendly, approachable and knowledgeable manner.

In order to purchase the right stock Colin does a huge amount of homework. The aim is always to buy the right horse that can win races but at a value price.

Married to Zoe with two teenage children the family can often be seen at their local tracks Fakenham and Huntingdon.

Caroline Bailey – Ambassador

Caroline has been involved with horses all her life. Her father, the late Dick Saunders, rode as an amateur and successfully trained with a permit. He rode Grittar to win the Grand National in 1982. Her mother, Pam, rode in point-to-points and enjoyed many years in the hunting field.

Caroline evented successfully as a teenager, beginning in the Pony Club and going on to compete for the British Junior Team at the European Championships. She began riding in point-to-points aged 16 years and rode many winners. She rode 18 winners under National Hunt Rules and was the first lady jockey to ride at winner at Cheltenham Racecourse, winning on Ptarmigan III.

Caroline is going to help us secure more horses for BDR and also attend our Owners Days.
